It shall be the duty and responsibility of all personnel to familiarize themselves with all policies outlined within the department's Standard Operating Procedures, Training Materials, and Code of Conduct. In accordance with the State, Ignorance or Misinterpretation of any of the manuals or other provided provisions will not be accepted as defense against disciplinary charges.
Officers will conduct themselves as the model citizen while off duty. The department will not specify who you can and can not interact with off duty, however hanging out with known criminal elements is highly frowned upon. Officers will not initiate any law enforcement action while off duty. Officers are not allowed to take duty weapons/tools off duty. All evidence must be stored or set to destroy before going off duty. If on duty officers show up regarding an investigation or a call for service, off duty officers must cooperate with on duty uniformed officers.
