  • The BCSO operates on a 10-point strike system rather than a traditional 3-strike system. Each offense will carry a certain number of points, and there are different levels of punishment at certian point amounts.

  • The amount of strike points per offense is up to the discretion of the supervisor.

  • At 4 points, this will result in a temporary hold on all promotions.

  • At 6 points, the officer may be removed from their subdivisions

  • At 7 points, officers may be demoted from their current rank, if applicable.

  • At 10 points, the officer will be terminated.

  • Each 30 day period with no added strike points will result in 3 points being removed from the officerโ€™s record.
